The work on 42 kilometres long 2-lane Trans Arunachal Highway from Khonsa to Changlang was commenced on April 8, 2016. This highway will serve as a lifeline for multiple villages and hence the beginning of work on it was much awaited by the local population. The work was started at Charju with much fanfare and there was a huge gathering of various Head of Government Departments, local chiefs and public leaders. Addressing this huge gathering, Mr. Ravi Jha who is the Tirap Deputy Commissioner congratulated all the people on this special occasion. He appealed to the villagers to cooperate in the development work and urged the Construction Company M/S MGCPL to take them into confidence so as to complete the work smoothly and as soon as possible. He assured that Tirap District Administration will provide every possible support and cooperation. Former MLA Mr. Wanglam Sawinwas also present on the occasion and he praised the district administration, concerned department , Construction CompanyM/S MGCPL and the local people for their efforts in ensuring that all the required formalities are completed so that the work could proceed to enable the work to begin. Another former MLA, Mr. Kamthok Lowang also addressed the gathering and described this occasion as a historic event. While addressing the Construction Company M/S MGCPL, he said that quality of work should not be compromised in any way and all technical specifications and guidelines should be strictly followed
